About Raina

My name is Raina Brouillet and have been passionate about food safety for over 35 years! I have been a Certified ServsafeĀ® instructor and proctor since 2007 but have been teaching food safety since 1984.

I started my career working for Marriott Corporation in their hotel division and completed their culinary and management training program. I received my first of many certifications in Food Safety in 1985. After completing a Quality Certified Training program in Food and Beverage, I was assigned to a task force to train new employees in the opening of four hotels in the Boston area. I also earned the designation of Quality Certified Trainer of the Year for the northeast region of the United States.

From there I enjoyed a 30 year career in healthcare as a manager directing activities in Food Service and Environmental Services. I have worked in a 280 bed Long Term Care facility and a 228 bed Hospital, both located in central Connecticut. This has given me continual exposure to regulatory agencies to include State and Local Departments of Public Health, Center of Medicare Services (CMS) and the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities (The Joint Commission). Process improvement and quality improvement have been a major part of my responsibility since my career began.

I have held State board of director positions two industry organizations ā€“Association of Healthcare Food Service Administrators and the Association of Food and Nutrition Professionals. Other affiliations have included the International Executive Housekeepers Association and the International Sanitary Supply Association.

I have had the opportunity to serve as healthcare representative on a state advisory group for the Connecticut Department of Public Health. This group considers ways to improve food safety throughout the state. One recent accomplishment of this group has been to propose and advance legislation that would have Connecticut adopt the FDA Model Food Code as the standard of practice and inspection in Connecticut. This was successfully adopted by legislature in 2018.
I look forward to helping you personally advance your career or improve your business by providing education and other resources enabling you to achieve:
